Gerry Ciccimarra
I’m a film director and screenwriter based in Italy.
I was born in Altamura (Puglia, Italy) in 1999 and have been based in Lecce for several years, where I completed a BA in Set Design at the Academy of Fine Arts with top honors, followed by a Master in Film Production at Aspasia Academy. In 2025, I graduated cum laude with an MA in Performing Arts and Audiovisual Production at the University of Salento.
In 2024, I co-founded Graveyard Studios, a video production company with a dark and expressive visual identity.
In 2025, I founded Galileo Films, my independent production house focused on visionary narratives and unconventional forms.
As a director, I’ve worked on several short films, including Leftovers (2021), The End of Neslie (2022), Jazzo Inferno (2023), Power Flow (2024), Carattere Unico (2025), and Mercadante (2025), a historical-biographical short about composer Saverio Mercadante, produced by Amaranta Frame.
My work explores themes of memory, solitude, transformation, and belief— often rooted in folklore and superstition, where these forces shape the emotional core of the human experience.
I seek to tell stories when the visible world begins to fracture, allowing something deeper, unresolved, uncanny to emerge.
I’m currently developing my next short film.
"Life is full of infinite absurdities, which, strangely enough, do not even need to appear plausible, because they are true."
- Luigi Pirandello
